Are we going to win this war or not? The short answer may seem paradoxical but bear with me. What is the short answer? It does not matter whether we win this war or not. The real question is, what do I mean by “this war”?
This war is the war to restore our nation. There is a war that is a “must win”. The good news is we cannot lose that one. No “must not” but can not. The outcome has already been decided. I refer, of course, to the final war between God and the devil – good versus evil. Now back to the current war.
We are indeed at war. We did not ask for this but our entire nation suffers from it. For the most part, this war is not being fought with weapons of overt death. Surely as crime rises, we will see more casualties, but overall this is collateral damage. Those waging war against us, the globalists, have a goal and that goal is to establish a world government. We, our nation, our sovereignty, stands in the way of this goal. Hence, they will use every available tool and method to bring our nation down so they may proceed with their plans. They are relentless. Unless we totally obliterate every single globalist, we will be plagued with them. This is not unprecedented. Consider the record in I Samuel:
1 Samuel 15:3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
King Saul was directed by God via the prophet Samuel to utterly destroy the Amalekites. If you continued to read you would discover that Saul showed mercy and was removed as king. Why? The reason was simple, the Amalekites would come back to cause great trouble for Israel, and they did. This same theme returned again and again in the Old Testament. In my last article I referred to the prophet Jeremiah who lived to see his nation fall to the Babylon king Nebuchadnezzar. Why did the Hebrews fall? They fell because they turned away from the One True God to worship false gods. Those false gods were the gods of the Amalekites and other nations the plagued the Hebrews during their time in the promised land.
Once again, history is repeated or, more accurately, as Mark Twain stated “history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes.”. Few, if any, in our nation worship the gods of Old Testament times. Instead government is worshiped. Other gods come and go but the altar of government has transfigured to the status of Zeus. In addition to this “all-powerful” god, we look to celebrities, idols, and many, many “wise men” to guide us all. The one thing they all have in common is they turn us away from the One True God.
Like Israel and Judah, our nation will fall unless we turn from these false gods and back to God Almighty. Such is unlikely to happen and thus my prediction of “doom”. All is not lost. Not only is our nation likely to fall but, eventually, it must. Otherwise the final war cannot emerge. Such realization brings about a quandary. What do we, as Christians, do? To fall down before false gods is not an option. To succumb to this world is repugnant. Shall we instead simply “eat, drink, and be merry”? What if we had a better option?
As I stated in the beginning, this current war may be lost but all is certainly not lost. Not only is the final war already won but it is also out of our hands. Should we have any part in it at all, we will be fully equipped when the time comes. Thus it does not matter who wins this current war. What does matter is the battles we choose. These we can win!
We face battles every day on many fronts. The enemy, the devil and his minions are everywhere. While they can and do make every effort to suppress us, to oppress us, to beat us into submission, we can stand on the truth. This should be our one and only goal.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
We are to stand against the wiles of the devil. How?
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Note here there is no advocacy for “armed resistance”. I am NOT saying we are precluded from defending ourselves from physical attacks but rather our focus should be on standing on the truth of God’s Word. This is a hard pill to swallow but we need to abandon the idea of saving or restoring our nation. Nor should you concern yourself with “winning people to Christ”. Such is God’s purview, not ours. Ephesians 1:4 for says we were chosen before the foundation of the world. Such it is with those who have yet to accept Christ. If any are chosen, God will not let them slip by. WE need to stand fast and hold forth the truth.
While this nation will and indeed must fall, we do not know when it will fall. It may be tomorrow, it may be decades or even centuries from now. Either way, we cannot hold it up nor keep it from falling. In light of this, we should do what we can do and let God Almighty take care of the rest.
